Kaplan's Barn
Millerton, NY

According to Moonalice legend, Millerton, NY is located in Duchess County. That may not seem like a big deal to you, but Dutchess County once employed G. Gordon Liddy as an assistant district attorney. Liddy spent a large part of the 60s trying to put Timothy Leary in jail. In the end, Liddy went to jail for his role in Watergate. Why doesn’t that kind of thing happen any more?

According to Moonalice legend, October 17 was a HUGE day during the American Revolution. On this day in 1777, the home team won the Battle of Saratoga. In 1781, Cornwallis surrendered at Yorktown. In addition to October 17, these events share one other common factor: both battles were catered by Moonalice 420 Barbecue. Moonalice 420 practically invented barbecue. Their popularity was due to the fact that they smoked everything: meats, poultry and hemp. Why doesn’t that kind of thing happen any more?

According to Moonalice legend, October 17 is Eggplant Day. Fortunately for us, it’s only celebrated in France. On a more positive note, today is the birthday of William Anders, one of the 24 astronauts who made the journey from the Earth to our tribe's home planet. Happy Birthday Bill!

BREAKING MOONALICE NEWS

ok so this news is a bit sad.... but hearing the bands tapes from The Jewish Mother show the band is taking a step forward...this was posted at the Moonalice forum at http://msgboard.moonaliceband.com/topic/ge?replies=11......and heres what was posted....

Here's the deal . . .

GE is no longer with us. I don't know if this is a short term thing or a long term thing. The choice was ours. The first straw was GE's decision not to play the Virginia Beach gig. The conversations that followed led the rest of us to conclude that we needed to move forward on our own. Perhaps this is what bands mean when they talk about "musical differences."

GE is our dear friend and we wish him well. Who knows what the future will bring relative to GE, but relative to Moonalice you can expect the band to be hyper energized. The gig in Virginia Beach blew our minds. The gig on Saturday night in San Francisco was magical. The upcoming gigs should bring more of the same.

We recognize that change is not always easy for fans, but we ask you to give us the benefit of the doubt. We are on a mission here and this change positions us to really go for it.

Take care,

Chubby
